Recap
Porriño will host Costa del Sol Málaga with four key players still unavailable, all of whom also missed the previous match against Beti-Onak, which ended in a 26-21 defeat. The absences are LucÃa Laguna, Kimberley Rutil, Marina González and Carmen Prelchi. With their squad significantly weakened, head coach Isma MartÃnez is once again forced to rely on academy players to complete the roster against one of the strongest sides in the league.
Costa del Sol Málaga boast a squad with proven quality and considerable experience, including former Guardés captain MarÃa Sancha. They began the season with an emphatic 14-29 away victory over Pozuelo de Calatrava before suffering two consecutive defeats (by champions Bera Bera and 4th placed Elda Prestigia). However, they responded positively in the previous round, recording an 30-27 victory over strong Gran Canaria.
The h2h record further strengthens Málaga’s chances. They have won the last 18 meetings between the sides, while Porriño’s most recent victory dates back to September 2016.
