Recap
Zamalek are expected to approach this fixture with limited focus, as their attention is firmly directed towards the highly anticipated clash with Al Ahly on October 11. As a result, the club are set to field an extremely youthful side, with the first team being heavily rotated for this match.
Head coach Gamal is also expected to be absent, with assistant coach Ibrahim Salah taking charge of the team. The starting lineup is likely to be exceptionally young, potentially featuring as many as six players born in 2007, three born in 2009 and two born in 2010.
Several of these youngsters have already made appearances for Zamalek’s senior team, but most will be facing a significantly greater level of responsibility than they are accustomed to.
ZED have a particularly strong opportunity to take advantage of Zamalek’s weakened lineup.
