Sigal Prishtina were unable to take the court in the opening round, with the game against Peja being officially awarded 0-20 to the visitors after Prishtina failed to meet its financial obligations to the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal and consequently could not register its players.
However, the situation has changed significantly in recent days. The Municipality of Prishtina allocated €50,000 in financial support to the club, allowing Prishtina to settle the first installment of its outstanding obligations. As a result, the club is now permitted to register its foreign players and is expected to travel to Gjakovë with its strongest available lineup.
Vëllaznimi have also experienced serious difficulties at the start of the season following the club’s financial collapse and lost in the first round against Bora (90-67). Considering the circumstances surrounding both teams, Vëllaznimi could face a challenging task against a Prishtina side that is finally able to field its full roster and should be considerably stronger than the team that was unable to register players in the opening round.
