Dobrudzha are facing serious difficulties both on and off the pitch. According to reports, the squad has not received salaries for June, July and August, creating considerable unrest and uncertainty within the dressing room. The club is also reportedly facing the threat of liquidation and has been forced to rely on fundraising initiatives from supporters in an effort to remain financially viable.
Relegated from the top flight in May, the Dobrich-based side have managed just one victory this season, a 5-1 success over Pirin Blagoevgrad in the opening round – a club that is itself experiencing significant financial and sporting difficulties. Since then, Dobrudzha’s campaign has deteriorated rapidly, with the team struggling to find stability both on and off the field. Today, they need to go by bus to Pazardzhik (more then 450 km) on the day of the match, because they don’t have funds to pay an accommodation.
Hebar have responded impressively after a run of three matches without a victory. They produced convincing wins over strong opposition, defeating Etar 4-1 before following that up with an emphatic 0-5 away victory against Montana.
They also possess the league’s leading scorer, Ivaylo Mihaylov, who represents a major attacking threat and could be particularly dangerous against a Dobrudzha side currently struggling for confidence and stability.
