Recap
The situation at Weinland Gamlitz has completely collapsed. A club that only recently had ambitious plans of climbing the Austrian football pyramid and reaching the second division within a few years has instead ended up in bankruptcy.
The financial problems have become so severe that Weinland Gamlitz will cease to exist after this season. This circumstances create enormous uncertainty around the squad, motivation and the club’s ability to function normally during its final days.
What makes the situation even more dramatic is that there are concerns about whether the team will even be able to fulfill the last fixture against Stadtwerke Bruck/Mur. The possibility of a walkover or a heavily improvised lineup can’t be completely ruled out given the current state of affairs.
Stadtwerke Bruck/Mur scored three wins in the last four rounds and will want to finish the season with a victory.
