Recap
The collapse of Zaragoza has become one of the biggest disappointments in recent Spanish football. One of the country’s most historic and supported clubs has officially suffered relegation to the Primera RFEF, marking their fall into the third tier for the first time in nearly 80 years.
This will be Zaragoza’s final match in the Segunda División before relegation becomes reality and the atmosphere around the club is understandably extremely negative. Results have completely collapsed in recent weeks, with the team failing to win any of their last nine league matches (0-3-6).
On top of the disastrous form, Zaragoza are dealing with enormous squad problems ahead of this match. No fewer than 11 players are confirmed absent, while several others remain doubtful:
❌ Francho (34/1)
❌ Insua (30/0)
❌ Andrada (27/0) – suspended
❌ Soberón (26/2)
❌ Guti (26/0) – suspended
❌ Valery (18/0)
❌ González (15/2)
❌ El Yamiq (12/1)
❌ Tachi (12/1)
❌ Bakis (9/2)
❌ de la Fuente (8/0)
❓ Cuenca (28/1)
❓ Aguirregabiria (25/1)
❓ Bare (24/0)
❓ Radovanovic (22/0)
The visitors arrive in complete contrast. Malaga are still fighting for an important objective, as they look to secure a playoff position and potentially even improve their standing toward the top three places currently occupied by Almería.
Motivation, momentum and squad availability are all clearly on Malaga’s side.
