Opatija saw their impressive six-match unbeaten streak (3-3-0) come to an end in the previous round after a 3-2 defeat away to Dubrava, in a game where a poor first half ultimately proved decisive. Despite that setback, the hosts secured their place in the Prva NL for next season and can now focus on finishing the campaign on a positive note in front of their home supporters.
Karlovac, meanwhile, arrive after finally ending a terrible run of results with a home victory over Jarun. Before that success, they had suffered five consecutive defeats and lost eight of their previous ten matches, which clearly highlights the difficulties they have faced in the second part of the season.
