BSV Zwickau face a difficult challenge ahead of their home fixture against Metzingen, with the hosts having to cope with several important absences – Niewiadomska, captain Zoe Stens, Silje Broms Petersen and Kristina Dramac are all unavailable, significantly reducing their options. As the coach Rentsch acknowledged, “We’re missing a lot of key players, which is a good opportunity for the younger players,” highlighting the extent to which the squad will have to rely on less experienced players.
Metzingen arrive with a strong squad and have further strengthened their roster with four new signings. Among them is Swiss international Charlotte Kähr, who knows Zwickau particularly well after playing for them last season, when she finished as their second top scorer. Her familiarity with the opposition could provide Metzingen with an additional advantage.
The recent h2h record also favors the visitors, with Metzingen unbeaten in the last four meetings, recording three victories and one draw.
