Recap
This is the final round of the EHF Champions League group stage and Dinamo București have everything to play for as they look to overtake Skanderborg AGF and secure second place. However, their qualification hopes also depend on Skanderborg losing at home against Barcelona. Montpellier have already been eliminated from contention for a place in the main round and are facing significant injury problems.
After five rounds, Montpellier have collected just one victory and have no chance of qualifying for the next stage, having four defeats in a row. French coach Érick Mathé has confirmed that at least six players will miss this fixture, forcing the club to promote academy players to the senior squad. Those unavailable include Drévy Paschal, Bryan Monte, Rogerio Moraes, Jack Thurin, Léo Plantin and Pol Valera. All six featured in the first meeting in Romania, where Montpellier secured a 23-27 victory.
With Dinamo București fighting to keep their qualification hopes alive and Montpellier having little left to play for, the motivational advantage clearly lies with the Romanian side.
