After a difficult start to the campaign, Voždovac have completely turned their season around. Following three consecutive defeats in the opening rounds, they have responded with an impressive run of four victories and two draws, including positive results against three former Super League clubs.
Their recent schedule has been particularly demanding. Within the space of just nine days, Voždovac held Javor Matis to a draw before defeating Jedinstvo Ub and Spartak Subotica, with the latter victory coming away from home. Tavares has also been in excellent form, scoring his fifth goal in six matches, while his partnership with Achraf Madi has developed into a significant attacking threat.
Napredak is going through a much more turbulent period. The club parted ways with head coach Saša Mićović following the defeat to Smederevo, their fifth loss in six matches. Mićović pointed to injuries to key players as a major factor behind the poor results, while his replacement, Ivan Stefanović, has also acknowledged that significant injury problems remain ahead of his first match in charge.
Another potential factor is the playing surface. Voždovac’s home ground features artificial turf, a surface their players are accustomed to and one that can make the home advantage particularly relevant.
With Voždovac carrying considerably stronger momentum, enjoying home advantage and facing a Napredak side dealing with injuries and a coaching transition, the hosts have a strong opportunity to continue their excellent run and collect another three points.
