Kairat Almaty endured a demanding European campaign, but successfully secured their place in the Conference League league phase. Despite the additional workload, they have maintained an outstanding level of consistency domestically, winning nine consecutive league matches, with eight of those victories coming by a margin of at least two goals.
Following Ordabasy’s unexpected defeat in Kokshetau, Kairat now have a clear opportunity to move to the top of the table. Nothing less than a victory will be enough if they want to take advantage of the slip-up and strengthen their position in the title race.
Zhenis is comfortably positioned in the middle of the standings but have struggled badly on the road, suffering six defeats in their last seven away matches. Their away performances have been particularly inconsistent and facing the reigning Kazakhstan champions in their current form represents a major challenge.
Kairat have both the quality and motivation to take control of this game and with first place within reach, I expect the champions to approach the match with maximum intensity and secure another important three points.
