Recap
I watched Portugal’s opening match against Poland and their performance was far from convincing. Poland were simply on another level, dominating virtually every set and leaving Portugal with very few opportunities to compete. Based on what I saw, Portugal’s realistic chances of achieving positive results in this tournament will come primarily in their matches against North Macedonia and Israel.
Bulgaria started to find their rhythm in the match against North Macedonia, securing a convincing 3-0 victory despite not producing their best performance. Their service was inconsistent at times and there is clearly room for improvement across several areas of their game.
I expect Bulgaria to raise their level significantly in this match. With greater confidence, stronger serving and superior overall quality, they should be able to impose themselves from the beginning and secure another clear 3-0 victory.
