Recap
Estrela will face Braga away from their usual home ground, with the match set to be played at Alverca Sports Complex. Estádio José Gomes has been temporarily prohibited from hosting matches following a pitch inspection, with the decision reportedly linked to the poor ratings received after the two matches played there this season.
Estrela will also be without head coach Pepa, who was sent off in their previous match and will therefore be suspended from the touchline. Their options are further reduced by the absence of midfielder Pedro Vanga (2/0), who is sidelined through injury.
Braga already played at the same Alverca venue in their previous match and came away with a 1-2 victory, meaning they will be familiar with the conditions and surroundings. Considering Estrela’s forced change of venue, the absence of their head coach and an important midfielder, combined with Braga’s recent experience and superior squad quality, I believe the visitors are capable of securing another victory at Alverca.
